Citizens Academy Application

Applications for the next Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Police Academy are being accepted until 5 p.m. July 14, 2025. The Charleston County Citizens Academy touches on every aspect of our agency, from law to detention to judicial enforcement, helping Charleston County residents better understand how our agency works to keep them safe. The class format includes presentations from our deputies, as well as hands-on activities, tours, and impactful storytelling. For questions, please contact Sgt. Bill Martin at billmartin@charlestoncounty.org. The class will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center starting on July 29th and ending Oct 7th (11 weeks). Applicants must be 18 years of age, a resident of Charleston County, and must fill out the following form to be considered for the class.
