Citizens Academy Application

Applications for the next Citizens Academy are being accepted until 5 p.m. Aug. 1, 2024. The Charleston County Citizens Academy touches on every aspect of our agency, from law to detention to judicial enforcement, helping Charleston County residents better understand how our agency works to keep them safe. The class format includes presentations from our deputies, as well as hands-on activities, tours, and impactful storytelling. Applicants must be 18 years of age, a resident of Charleston County, and must fill out the following form to be considered for the class. Each class will be held on a Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center. The class will be held on the following dates: Aug. 14, 21, and 28; Sept. 4, 11, 18, and 25; and Oct. 2, 9, 16, and 23
